We followed the Silk Road from Istanbul eastwards through the Caucasus, Iran and Central Asia. Before I left everybody asked me "why are you going THERE?" I hope that this blog will answer that question by showing that these are beautiful and fascinating places full of beautiful and fascinating people.

Hiking in the Armenian Lesser Caucasus Mountains
It was a lovely day but very hot. I have never seen so many wildflowers in my life! Not much else to say really, just lots of pictures.
